Someone once said “Have you ever wondered what marks our time here? If one life can make an impact on the world…or if the choices we make matter? I believe they do and I believe that one man can change many lives for the better…or worse”.
That someone I might never know but every time I read his/her words. These words start making sense. Isn’t that true our feelings and our actions do make an impact whether it’s our own life or the people we surround ourselves with. A strong mind does know what kind of feelings we need to avoid and those feelings that lead us to our actions? I can’t call myself a strong-minded person but there are some moments. I know where I gather my strength and think is this worth it? or am I just wasting my time over here?
Today I’m gonna talk about 13 types of feelings and people a strong-minded person avoid and knows it’s not worth wasting their time over:
I think every person on this earth knows anger makes us say and do things. Which we end up regretting later? At that moment, people might not care about your kindness in the past. One single moment and your petty feeling to ruin every single thing that you build over the years. So is this worth it? the answer is no and a strong-minded person knows that they take a step back instead of letting one single feeling ruin everything for them.

Fear to try something new, fear of what other people say? fear about moving on. Why do we always let our fear get the best of us? why don’t we just live in the moment instead of thinking about tomorrow? Because let’s be honest tomorrow doesn’t exist you live for today and for that moment. Don’t be afraid to try something new and never let what others say cloud your judgment and stop you from doing something. What they gonna say is up to them? If you gonna let this fear stop you from doing something then it’s only on you and you can’t blame anyone for that but only yourself. Strong-minded never let their fear stop them from doing something.
‘William Arthur Ward’ once said ” Blessed is who has learned to admire but not envy, to follow but not imitate, to praise but not flatter, and to lead but not manipulate”. There is so much hidden truth behind these lines. The strong-minded person only admire other people success instead of becoming jealous of it. They let other people success become an example for them not the source of envy. They never gonna butter you up and wishing for your failure and gloat after seeing crumbling down.
4. Feeling sorry for themselves
Bad things happen to everyone, it doesn’t matter if you are good or bad? Everyone had their fair share of pain and gone through the ups and downs of life. Strong people don’t let that drown them in self-pity.
5. Repeating or Regretting Past Mistakes
Everyone makes mistakes in life, it’s in our human nature. The one who doesn’t make any? they never gonna learn anything. But the one who makes mistakes and writes that lesson down in their book of life are the ones who never gonna repeat them ever again. Only a strong person can admit they made a mistake in the first place and admitting is the start of that lesson. They don’t repeat or regret the decision they made in the past.
6. Dwelling on The Past
‘Buddha’ said, “Do not dwell on the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present”. A strong person never let what others said and did to them in the past affect their decision and life in the present. They forgive and move on with their life.
You are the one who got the power. Do not let past sorrows drown you into it.
Grudges are the same as dwelling on your past. Because that grudge holds you back from moving on with your life and you are still drowning in your sorrow and letting others have more power over you. First, it was they who destroyed you? But now if you let revenge it is only you who is destroying your own life? If you are strong? You forgive, forget, and then move on.
8. Manipulating People (Wrong Crowd)
Smart people walk away from the trouble they don’t welcome it with open arms. Don’t let others manipulate into doing something, which is against your morals? Don’t let someone guilt trip you into making you feel like you are the one at fault. Just walk away from these kinds of people. Because you are only wasting your energy when the other person is not even trying a little bit? Strong people love themselves enough to walk away.
9. Negative Thinking
A negative thinker sees difficulty in every opportunity. A positive thinker sees an opportunity in every difficulty. Being a negative person can never bring you any good in your life. Not everything is black and white. Don’t let the fear of failure stops you from doing something. If you already made up your mind about losing a race without even running in it? Life is like a marathon you need to keep running into it without thinking about you gonna fail. Because it’s not always about winning, sometimes it’s about the journey and what you learned from it?
10. Worry About Pleasing Others
It’s not always about other people and what they want from you? Most parents set goals for their children. Thinking if it’s making them happy then it’s also going to make their kids happy and children fearing becoming disappointment start doing what their parents want of them? Leading towards an unhappy and stressful life. Which drains your energy? You are not doing any good becoming the puppet of others. Fight for yourself and your happiness, and stop worrying about what others want from you?
Nothing is ever enough. Comparing yourself to others what they have and what you don’t have? Greed is never-ending feeling never having more money compared to your rich friends, Wanting a bigger house a bigger car. Because that’s what your friend got either you want or you want more than others. Greed also leads to envy. Don’t let greed get the best of you. Because there are less fortunate in this world than you. If you wanna compare go compare yourself with them and see how blessed you are? Stop wasting your time and energy letting the greed and jealousy overpower you.
12.Giving Others Control Over Your Feelings
Don’t let what other people say makes you feel small? Don’t let them have that kind of power over you. Letting your parents makes you feel bad when your grades are not up to their standards. All you need to know is that you gave it you’re all. You might not be able to make them see it. But you know it and that should be enough. Because you can’t please every single person on this earth. Does a writer let one bad review makes them stop writing in the future? The answer is no they don’t let one bad review overpower the thousands of reviews that are filled with love. You always have to see the bright light instead of the dark tunnel.
13. Wasting Your Time on Something That You Can’t Control
You can’t control what other people do and think? Thinking everything is under your control. Don’t waste your time and energy over that you have no control over. Focus on the positive aspect of your life. Help a friend who needs your help. Spend time doing things that are under your control? Stop letting the things that you can’t do or the things which are out of your control? Instead, focus your energy on something which is under your control?
Finish your homework, go clean your house, read a book, help the one you can.
