Mumbai, April 20, 2021: While echoing the sentiments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ashvini Danigond, Founder and CEO of Manorama Infosolutions Pvt Ltd (MIPL), stated that there is an urgent need to activate and set up regional 24×7 telemedicine clinics at Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as a focused line for alternate ways of assessment of a patient who doesn’t require critical attention. “This will help reduce the burden on healthcare facilities,” she said.
PM Modi had an interaction with doctors across the country via video conferencing on the Covid-19 issue and vaccination progress on Monday where he had also encouraged doctors to use telemedicine for the treatment of other diseases, in case there is no emergency.
The Prime Minister had expressed his concern that the pandemic is spreading rapidly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as well. PM Modi called for accelerating efforts to upgrade resources in such places. He urged doctors to connect with their colleagues working in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and give them online consultations to ensure that all protocols are followed correctly. “There is a need to use digital health solutions to enable real-time data and analytics on the patient, medication, and vaccination for Covid-19 patient for planning and predictability towards supply-chain efficiency,” said Danigond, adding that there should be means to incentivize hospitals and healthcare providers for the adoption of digital healthcare tools like Pandemic Management Solutions, Telemedicine & Virtual Consultation Platforms along with other clinical solutions, which helps in better outcomes for care providers and patients.
Further, she stated that it is an appropriate time to build public-private-partnership (PPP) projects involving technology companies working in the healthcare space for faster and scalable digital healthcare infrastructure.
