Last week, there was a strong shopping in the market. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and HDFC Bank benefited the most from the strength of the market. The market cap of only two companies declined. These include Bharti Airtel and HCL Technologies.

In the week ended on Friday, the wealth of investors of 8 of the top 10 companies in the country has increased by about Rs 1.45 lakh crore. The market cap of these companies increased by Rs 1,45,194.57 crore last week. Last week, there was a strong shopping in the market. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and HDFC Bank benefited the most from the strength of the market. The market cap of only two companies declined, including Bharti Airtel and HCL Technologies.

The market cap of eight companies Reliance Industries, Hindustan Unilever, HDFC ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Infosys rose, including Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and HDFC.

The market cap of leading IT company Tata Consultancy Services increased by Rs 37,692.7 crore to Rs 9,46,632.85 crore. The market capitalization of top private bank HDFC Bank increased by Rs 34,425.67 crore to Rs 6,09,039.90 crore, while the valuation of home loan company HDFC increased by Rs 25,091.57 crore to Rs 3,21,430.66 crore. The market cap of Reliance Industries, the top petrochem entity, rose by Rs 15,789.36 crore to Rs 15,04,587.18 crore.

The market cap of private sector lender ICICI Bank increased by Rs 14,244.15 crore, after which it reached Rs 2,54,574.08 crore. Kotak Mahindra Bank’s market cap rose by Rs 11,053.88 crore to Rs 2,58,346 crore. The market cap of FMCG company Hindustan Unilever rose by Rs 4,064.73 crore to Rs 4,92,243.78 crore. The market cap of other IT giants Infosys rose to Rs 4,33,480.32 crore from Rs 2,832.51 crore.

On the other hand, the valuation of advance telecom company Bharti Airtel has been reduced by Rs 4,009.84 crore to Rs 2,35,871.02 crore. The market cap of HCL Technologies declined by Rs 4,002.66 crore to Rs 2,20,553.13 crore.

On the basis of market cap, Reliance Industries still remains at the first position. Tata Consultancy Services retained the second position and HDFC Bank stood third. Hindustan Unilever and Infosys are at the fourth and fifth positions respectively. HDFC is ranked sixth and Kotak Mahindra Bank is ranked seventh.

ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel and HCL Technologies are on the last three positions respectively. Last week, the BSE Sensex climbed 1,308.39 points or 3.49 per cent to close at 38,697.05.
