Today’s story Founder and CEO of NE-TAXI Custom Chhetri Has started his business in the second year of college.
Rivaz was born in Gangtok, Sikkim in 1994. He graduated in forestry from North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, Arunachal Pradesh. Her late father was a poultry farmer and his mother is a homemaker.
“I started NE Taxi in the second year of my college. So there were a lot of challenges in the beginning. I started this business by purchasing a domain name for 300 rupees. On the very first day I understood that for the place where I want to see my company, I will have to do the same diligence. I started it in 2013 and developed and launched the application in 2017. ” – Custom
Both the attitude and the tenacity of the custom were very strong. He faced countless challenges in his journey. Many times he had made up his mind to leave it as well. The people of the North East did not trust a car rental company. Many travel agents also tried to confuse him but he did not change his decision.
Bhagya changed sides when Rivaz included Geet Gera on the board last year. His business now grew day by day. He also received a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh by YLC for his business plan. He invested all his money to develop the application. And then they never looked back.
“I grew up in Gangtok. I thought that I should solve the problem of logistics of Sikkim. People here face many problems during the journey. When I was studying in Arunachal Pradesh, only the bus was the only means of travel that used to come from Guwahati. One day I got an idea that started using luxury trains for traffic in our area. And that’s how my journey started. I am still working on improving the traffic system in this area. “
The business model was done on a commission basis from day one. Rivas started this business with only 300 rupees. He put all the earnings of this business in him. Today, five members are in his core team and 26 employees work in five branches. Today, the annual turnover of NE Taxi is around Rs 90 lakh. Their five branches are in Gangtok, Darjeeling, Tawang, Guwahati and Shillong.
When Rivaz started this project, he was optimistic about his goal and believed that he would one day succeed. Although his path was not easy. He had many reasons for leaving this business, but he upheld his decision on the strength of his vision.
