There had been reviews that the Monegasque driver had requested a gathering with Elkann after being pressured to retire whereas positioned in third in Sakhi resulting from an engine concern, with Italian outlet Gazetta dello Sport reporting Leclerc was “evidently worried” in regards to the workforce’s reliability.
His teammate Carlos Sainz completed in fourth, whereas final season’s major rivals Red Bull dominated the race with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez taking first and second place.
Ahead of the second race of the season in Saudi Arabia this weekend, Ferrari workforce principal Vasseur has moved to quell any rumours that any assembly was not lengthy within the works.

Vasseur added that as workforce principal at Ferrari he has “resources and decision-making power that I have never had anywhere else.”
