Emma Raducanu has been given a wildcard for the Miami Open later this month.
The British No 1, at the moment ranked eightieth, made her debut on the Florida match, one of many largest on the WTA and ATP Tours, final 12 months, shedding her opening match to Czech Katerina Siniakova.
Raducanu joins her fellow former US Open champion Dominic Thiem in receiving a wild card for the occasion, beginning on March 19, and match director James Blake mentioned: “We are happy to be able to add Emma and Dominic to the Miami Open fields.
“Both these players have shown what it takes to win the biggest tournaments in the world, and we look forward to welcoming them to Miami to compete for the title here in a few short weeks.”
The 20-year-old has not performed a match since shedding to Coco Gauff within the second spherical of the Australian Open in January however will make her return in Indian Wells subsequent week.
Raducanu, who overcame an ankle damage to compete in Melbourne, was as a consequence of play within the ATX Open in Texas this week however withdrew due to a bout of tonsillitis.
