First petrol-diesel, then LPG, then edible oil and now much more is going to be more expensive. Along with the items of necessity, now your hobby is going to hit inflation. Yes! Talking about the car, your favorite car. Actually, the country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is going to increase the price of many models of cars from 1 April.

The company also increased the prices of the car in mid-January. And now within about two and a half months, the company is going to increase the price of cars once again. Although the company has not officially announced it. But it is being told in media reports that the price of the car can be increased by 3 to 5 percent. If you look at the price of the car, then the inflation can increase to around Rs. 50 thousand in the prices.

According to media reports, Maruti is the lowest of its initial model Alto 800 and can increase the price of luxury cars like Brezza, Ciaz, XL6. However, concrete information will be available on 1 April. Explain that due to the BS6 engine, the company has discontinued the diesel variants of some models.

Prices have been steadily increasing over the past few years

In January 2019, Maruti increased the prices of its 7 models. Prices were increased by Rs 10,000 on the Alto 800, Rs 7,000 on the Alto K10, Rs 9,000 on the Dzire, Rs 8,870 on the Swift, Rs 10,000 on the Omini, Rs 10,000 on the Vitara Brezza and Rs 5,000 on the Eco.

Since May 2018, the prices of Maruti cars have been increased from 23 thousand to 74 thousand rupees. That is, if the company increases the price up to a maximum of 47 thousand rupees, then on some models within about three years, there will be an increase of up to 1.21 lakh rupees.

Why are car prices going up?

Raw material is the major reason behind the increase in car prices. Steel is the largest component in making cars, which has become more than 50 percent more expensive in a year. At the same time, the difference between the demand and supply of semiconductor has also been seen. There is also a reason that the government has made certain safety features necessary with the BS6 Norms engine last year, including anti-lock braking system, dual airbags, parking sensors, etc.

According to the company, the cost of raw materials has increased compared to the last few years. To compensate for the increase in the cost of raw materials, the company is going to increase the prices of all its models from April 1. Explain that since last year, the company’s vehicles have had an impact on the cost of raw materials. In such a situation, it has become necessary to increase the prices of vehicles from April 2021 and reduce the cost burden.
