According to the viral news on social media, in view of the lockdown, Indian Railways has planned to run Shramik Special Trains. However, the Central Railway Zone of Indian Railways, headquartered in Mumbai, has said that there are no plans to run Shramik Special trains.

The Central Railway tweeted that it has come to the notice of the Railway Administration that some wrong information is being spread on social media that labor special trains are being run. Therefore, it is clarified that ‘no such special labor trains’ are being run, nor are there any plans to run them. Railways are running special trains only in summer. Please do not get seduced by rumors.

Last year, labor special trains were run in lockdown

Indian Railways operated a total of 4,615 laborers special trains, which took more than 63 lakh people home during the coronovirus lockdown last year. Let us know that on 1 May last year, the Railways had run a labor special train so that thousands of stranded migrants could be sent to their homes.
