We spent 2020 completely under the shadow of Corona. Business stopped. It became difficult for people to move from one place to another. Then gradually we started defeating Corona and won it as well. But as we were celebrating this, this virus came back twice as fast and within a few days 1 lakh cases (24 hours) were crossed in the country.
This year, corona cases are increasing faster than last year, one reason is that the infection power of the virus is doubling. The second reason is to get rid of people’s fear. Compared to last year, the public is moving freely in public places and mandatory items like masks are not being installed in many places. However, there is a similarity between the first and second wave of Corona. That is that in India, the maximum number of cases both times increased in Maharashtra. Especially this time there is a situation of virus explosion in the state.
About 80 to 90 percent of the infections of the country are coming from only 8 states. The central government has sent its special teams in Maharashtra, Punjab and Chhattisgarh to take stock of the situation. Night curfew in Maharashtra, lockdown has been imposed in the weekend and restrictions have been imposed in public places.
Why Corona cases increase in Maharashtra itself?
In industrial areas, there is a large crowd of people, due to which the infection can spread easily and fast there. For this reason, the infection spread rapidly and uncontrollable in both the waves in Maharashtra.
If we take the example of Mumbai, then it is the most populous city as compared to the rest of the big cities. It also has the largest number of slums and people also travel in crowds. These conditions are enough to increase the infection on its own.
There is another argument of experts in the case of Maharashtra. In states where the rural population is more, both the number and rate of infection is less. Not only this, the severity of the cases there is also less. Population density is lower in rural areas, air flow in their houses is better and they work in open area. Not only this, urban problems like hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, obesity are very less. Even air pollution is reduced.
