In the sixth match of IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 6 runs. At one time, this match was out of Bengaluru’s hands. But Shahbaz Ahmed, who came to bowl in the 17th over, overturned the game. Taking 3 wickets in his single over, he snatched the match from Hyderabad and put it in Bangalore. When Shahbaz came to bowl, Hyderabad needed a total of 37 runs to win, but they changed the game by dismissing Bairstow, Manish Pandey and Abdul Samad one after the other.

Who is Shahbaz Ahmed?

26-year-old Shahbaz Ahmed hails from Haryana, crossing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Naiyya against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Born on 12 December 1994 in Mewat, Haryana, Shahbaz started his first-class cricket career in 2018-19. He played his debut match for Bengal in the Vijay Hazare tournament on 20 September 2018. On 14 December this year, he also played Ranji Trophy for Bengal. Talking about T20, he started the journey with the Syed Mustar Ali Trophy.

Talk of statistics, he has played 13 First Class, 21 List-A and 25 T20 matches in his career so far. In List-A cricket, he has a total of 435 runs and 18 wickets with a century in his name .. While in First Class cricket, he has scored 559 runs. His name also has 37 wickets recorded. In this series, he has scored 195 runs in 25 matches in T20 cricket, while in bowling, he has a total of 24 wickets in his name.

Bengaluru has a chance in IPL

Shahbaz Ahmed was included in his team by Bangalore as an all-rounder in IPL 2020. Considering his talent, he was bought for his base prize of Rs 20 lakhs. In the last season, Shahbaz rarely got the chance to play. He got only 2 matches to play. Where his performance was average.

However, in IPL-2021, Captain Kohli expressed confidence in him and gave him a chance in the second match of the tournament. Shahbaz too did not disappoint his captain and lived up to his expectations. Even though lefthand batting at number three, he was out after scoring 14 runs in 10 balls. But he got caught while doing left-arm spin bowling.

By taking three wickets in his single over, he has become the new emerging name of RCB. He took a total of 3 wickets for 7 runs in 2 overs in this match. He is expected to perform similarly in the future.
