BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. The World Bank
(WB) has accepted extra grant financing of $50 million from
the Crisis Response window for the Strengthening Resilience of the
Agriculture Sector Project in Tajikistan, Trend experiences citing the

As a part of the extra financing, the mission will help
the procurement and distribution of emergency seeds, fertilizers
and small-scale equipment to susceptible farmers, procurement and
distribution of micronutrient and vitamin dietary supplements for pregnant
and lactating ladies and younger youngsters below the age of 5,
and many others.
“The mission may also finance the institution of extra
agri-logistical facilities to enhance the competitiveness of
horticulture worth chains and enhance farmers’ entry to markets.
It will strengthen nationwide capability on prevention and administration
of future crises and meals fortification, in addition to help the
authorities in revising the meals safety regulation and improvement of a
meals safety disaster preparedness plan,” the WB mentioned.
According to the preliminary information, over 1.4 million individuals
together with 345,000 susceptible farmers, over 350,000 pregnant and
lactating ladies and greater than 1 million youngsters below 5 receiving
iron-folic acid dietary supplements will profit from the mission.
Notably, agriculture is the spine of Tajikistan’s economic system,
