Under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), a total insurance of Rs 4 lakh is available. Life cover is available up to the age of 55 years in PMJJBY. It is a type of term insurance which has to be renewed every year. Prime Minister’s Suraksha Bima Yojana
Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana is a Government Accidental Policy (Personal Accident Insurance Scheme). This scheme covers accidental death for one year i.e. death due to accident and disability due to accident. This scheme is renewed every year. There are three types of benefits available in this scheme. The first benefit is related to the death in the accident. If the insured person dies, the nominee will get Rs 2 lakh. Even if someone’s both hands, feet or eyes go in an accident, then he will get the benefit of 2 lakhs. If he loses sight of one eye or is disabled in one leg or hand, then he will get a benefit of 1 lakh.
12 rupees annual premium
The premium for this scheme is only Rs 12 per annum. This scheme is auto renewed every year or it has to be renewed. The minimum age limit for this scheme is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 70 years. If someone has multiple bank accounts, then he can take advantage of this scheme from one account of any one bank.
