Speaking to a news channel, SII Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Adar Poonawala said that after the initial 10 crore dose contract is over, the central government will also be charged at the rate of Rs 400 per dose.
Now the Center will also get a vaccine of 400 rupees

100 million doses produced by July
Poonawala also said that SII will be able to increase the production of COVID-19 vaccine of Astrogenka-Oxford University by July to 100 million doses monthly. Earlier this deadline was till the end of May. At present the production is 6 to 7 crore doses month. The company also said that it will address the issue of limited capacity by increasing vaccine production in the next two months.
Average price in the US is 1500 rupees
Serum Institute said, “Given the price of the vaccine globally, we are making sure that our vaccine is cheaper than the vaccines of other companies in the world.” Whereas in Russia and China the price of the vaccine is more than Rs 750 per dose.
