The market cap of four of the top 10 companies of the Sensex increased by Rs 1,14,744.44 crore last week. Among the most profitable companies in the IT sector were Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys. The market valuations of TCS, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) and Bharti Airtel increased during the week.
At the same time, the market position of Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and State Bank of India declined. However, the total loss of 99,183.31 crore rupees of these companies was less than the profit of four companies.
These companies benefited
TCS ‘market capitalization rose by Rs 57,816.18 crore to Rs 12,28,898.85 crore during the week. Infosys added Rs 23,625.36 crore and had a market capitalization of Rs 6,13,854.71 crore.
Similarly, the market valuation of Hindustan Unilever rose by Rs 17,974.19 crore to Rs 5,81,741.24 crore and Bharti Airtel rose by Rs 15,328.71 crore to Rs 2,99,507.71 crore.
List of Top 10 Companies
Reliance Industries retained the first position in the list of top 10 companies. It was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, State Bank of India and Bharti Airtel respectively.
Last week, the BSE 30-share Sensex lost 438.51 points or 0.87 per cent.
