According to the Income Tax Department, now those who do not link PAN to Aadhaar will now be charged a strong fine. Not only this, now the time limit given for linking will also not be extended further.
Link Aadhaar and PAN
To track financial transactions of the people, the government has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar and PAN card (PAN). But many people have still not done this work. If you are also one of them, then soon link your Aadhaar card with PAN because now its date will not be extended further. Not only this, now the government is also preparing to collect fines from those who do not follow this process.
According to the TOI report, some senior officials of the tax department say that this is the last time the linking date has been extended. After this, those who have not linked their Aadhaar PAN will have to pay a fine of up to 1000 rupees. Please tell that in March the CBDT had extended the linking date to 30 June. In the last Finance Bill, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also amended in this regard, under it a provision was made to impose penalty on defaulters in case of Aadhaar number.
How to link Aadhaar with PAN card
The process of linking Aadhaar with PAN can be done both online and offline. If you want, you can also link PAN and Aadhaar via SMS. For this, you need to message UIDPAN 12 digit Aadhaar number> to 567678 or 56161.
Online linking process
To link Aadhaar with PAN card, go to the official income tax website https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home. Click on ‘Link Aadhar’ here. After doing this, a new page will open. Fill the PAN, Aadhaar number and your name in it. If only the year of birth is written in your Aadhaar, then you have to tick this option- ‘I have only year of birth in Aadhaar card’. Now enter captcha code and click on link basis. After doing this, the confirmation page will open, in which information related to PAN will be visible.
Do this work for offline
For offline linking, you have to visit the service center of PAN Service Provider, NSDL or UTIITSL. Here, the form ‘Annexure-I’ has to be filled and along with the copy of PAN card and Aadhar card, some other documents will have to be copied. During this time you will also have to pay a fixed fee. Through this process you can link PAN with your Aadhaar.
