Google, Microsoft and Amazon helped in this way
To combat this pandemic, Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced a donation of US $ 18 million last month. Amazon said it would distribute 1,000 Medtronic ventilators in India.
Microsoft said that it will provide 1,000 ventilators and 25,000 oxygen concentrators to India.
Reliance Industries is making medical oxygen
Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries made arrangements to deliver more than 1,000 tonnes of medical oxygen per day from its oil refineries, which is more than 11 per cent of India’s total medical oxygen supply. The group also prepared a total of 1,875-bed hospitals in Jamnagar and Mumbai for free treatment of COVID patients.
India’s largest steel maker JSW stopped manufacturing some steel products to produce hundreds of tonnes of oxygen.
What is the contribution of IT companies
Wipro and Azim Premji Foundation converted an IT plant in Pune into a 430-bed COVID Hospital, while Infosys, in collaboration with Narayana Health, has set up a 100-room COVID Hospital in Bengaluru, which provides free care to the poor.
The Tata group, through its companies, provided about 5,000 beds for COVID patients. In addition, the group imported 1,000 cryogenic containers.
SBI, Tech Mahindra, Cipla, Vedanta, ITC and Adani Group also took similar initiatives.
