Various central ministries including the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare are considering the matter along with other stakeholders, he said.
RT-PCR negative report required in many states
Many states including Odisha, Meghalaya and Maharashtra are now asking travelers coming from outside to bring negative reports of COVID. Officials said that domestic airlines, already badly affected due to the coronavirus pandemic, have told the civil aviation ministry that such state-level rules are obstructing the way of air travel and completely Vaccinated passengers should be allowed to travel without a negative report of COVID.
The number of air passengers decreased in the second wave of Corona
By the end of February, the number of domestic air passengers had reached about 3 lakh per day, but in the second wave of the corona epidemic this number was reduced to about 85,000. Officials said that with health being a state subject, the Center is in discussion with states to allow domestic air travelers taking both doses of the COVID-19 vaccines to travel without test reports.
