This is a term insurance plan with a premium of Rs 330 annually. Anyone aged 18–50 years can buy it and it gives a coverage of 2 lakh rupees. If your family has died and they had invested in this scheme, then a claim will have to be made within a month. Insurance can be availed only after 45 days of scheme enrollment.

Terms and Conditions

> A person can associate with PMJJBY only with an insurance company and a bank account.
>> Individuals who skip the scheme can join it again by paying annual premium and depositing self declaration of good health.
>> To get the claim of PMJJBY, the nominee / successor of the insured must contact the bank branch where the insured has an account. For obtaining the claim, the death certificate of the insured and a claim form will have to be submitted. After the process is completed, the claim amount will be transferred to the nominee’s bank account.
>> The insurance will end automatically after the insured person is 55 years old.
>> This is a pure term insurance policy, so it covers only death.
>> There is also no maturity benefit, surrender value etc.
