Sensex rises 2 percent
Last week, 8 of the top 10 companies in the Sensex market cap rose a total of Rs 1,28,503.47 crore in the stock market. The companies in the IT sector benefited the most were Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys. TCS’s market cap rose by Rs 36,158.22 crore to Rs 11,71,082.67 crore during the week. TCS remained the most profitable.
The market cap of Infosys increased by Rs 20,877.24 crore to Rs 5,90,229.35 crore and Hindustan Unilever increased by Rs 19,842.83 crore to Rs 5,63,767.05 crore.
These companies also benefited
During this period, the market valuation of Reliance Industries jumped by Rs. 17,401.77 crore to Rs. 12,81,644.97 crore and State Bank of India increased by Rs. 12,003.6 crore to Rs. 3,30,701.48 crore.
ICICI Bank’s market share grew by Rs 10,681.76 crore to Rs 4,10,775.37 crore and Kotak Mahindra Bank’s Rs 6,301.56 crore rose to Rs 3,57,573.74 crore. During the week, Bajaj Finance added Rs 5,236.49 crore and its market valuation stood at Rs 3,17,563.53 crore.
Damage done to them
In contrast to this trend, HDFC Bank’s market capitalization declined by Rs 3,142.29 crore to Rs 8,19,474.22 crore. HDFC’s market position fell by Rs 171.38 crore to Rs 4,56,569.82 crore.
Sensex rises 2 percent
The BSE 30-share Sensex gained 1,021.33 points, or 2 per cent, in the previous week with a short trading session. Stock markets were closed on Monday and Friday.
List of top 10 companies
Reliance Industries retained the first position in the list of top 10 companies. It was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI and Bajaj Finance respectively.
