Amid the growing crisis of COVID-19 (COVID-19), digital transactions of money has increased, the country’s largest bank SBI advises its customers to be vigilant with thugs and not to download any app from any unknown source. Granted The bank also asked customers not to reply to unsolicited offers from e-mail, SMS or any other social media account, no matter how attractive they may be.
State Bank of India (SBI) said in a message sent to customers, “We advise our customers to be vigilant with thugs and not to download any app from any unknown source.”

The bank asked the customers not to share important information like date of birth, debit card number, debit card PIN and CVV, OTP and also asked them to call on behalf of SBI, Reserve Bank, Police or KYC Authority Beware of thugs.

Do not download any mobile app based on telephone call or email from unknown source. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is also running a customer awareness campaign ‘RBI Says’ to protect customers from being cheated by fraudsters.
During the lockdown last year, fraud was committed in digital banking fraud and fraudsters have become active again amid restrictions imposed by several states to prevent coronovirus cases.
Earlier, the bank released a video stating that the fraudster calls and says that he is a bank officer and asks him to update the KYC. For this, they download an app and take your phone to remote access. After this money is transferred from the account of the account holder to another account.
