There has been no change in the prices of petrol-diesel, which has been in place for the last one week. Last time, on March 30, 2021, the price of petrol and diesel fell by 22 paise and 23 paise per liter respectively. The price of petrol and diesel has been reduced three times in March. Meanwhile, mercury has seen a rise in the price of crude oil.
These rates are different in different cities due to the taxes levied on petrol and diesel by the states. Apart from the states, the central government also levies taxes on fuel. Apart from this, there is also the cost of transportation of oil. This is the reason that petrol-diesel prices in India have reached this record level.
