Parle will launch its flour in the market
The country’s largest and popular biscuit company Parle-G is now going to launch its flour in the market soon. The preparation of the company is to give competition to Patanjali etc. including popular flour brand Ashirwad. The company will introduce the branded Atta brand in North and West India and will be sold under three stock keeping units.
Issuing a statement from the company on Monday, it was told that ‘Parle G Chakki Atta’ will be sold in both urban and rural markets. According to the company, these days many people are looking for hygienic products in food, so the trust of the brand is being expanded to other food segments. This product is being launched for the purpose of providing quality wheat flour to the customers.
Mayank Shah, senior category head at Parle Products, says that the number of people taking branded flour has increased during the pandemic. Due to restrictions on movement, most people are ordering goods online, so the demand for packet flour has increased. In such a situation, with the aim of providing better quality flour to the people in a hygienic way, the company will launch it in the market.
He also pointed out that the wheat flour market is largely unbranded. Small local mills that are meeting the demand for flour used almost daily by millions of Indian households need further boost in hygiene and facilities. Keeping this in mind, the competing company ITC Limited had launched Ashirwad Atta in the form of branded wheat flour, which has also benefited them a lot.
It is known that Parle-G is the largest selling biscuit brand in India. Established in the year 1929, this company also sells snacks and confectionery in the country. Parle was topped in the 2020 Brand Footprint Ranking Study. Parle’s highest CRP (million) in the 2020 ranking was 6029, which was 12 percent higher than the previous ranking.
