Over 1 mln cruise passengers go to Türkiye final 12 months

The variety of cruise ships visiting Türkiye and cruise
passengers elevated considerably in 2022 from the earlier month,
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoglu has
introduced, Trend

Last 12 months, 991 cruise ships docked on the nation’s ports, up
from solely 78 cruise liners in 2021. The variety of cruise passengers
elevated 22 instances in 2022 in comparison with the earlier 12 months, rising to
over 1 million, Karaismailoglu mentioned.

“Cruise tourism exercise was robust final 12 months. We noticed noticeable
will increase in each the variety of cruise ships and passengers,” he
commented.

The busiest month when it comes to cruise tourism was October, when a
whole of 155 ships with practically 207,000 holidaymakers on board
visited the Turkish ports, the minister mentioned.

The port within the widespread vacation resort city of Kushadası within the
western province of Aydın took the lead amongst all locations in
Türkiye. Some 464 cruise ships and round 494,000 cruise passengers
arrived in Kushadası in 2022, in line with Karaismailoglu.

Galataport in Istanbul welcomed 143 ships and 220,000
passengers, whereas the corresponding figures for the port within the
district of Bodrum had been 98 ships and round 96,000 passengers, he
mentioned.

Cruise ships visited the ports within the district of Amasra and
Unye on the Black Sea coast for the primary time in 2022, the
minister added.
