The Income Tax Department will launch a new portal and mobile app on June 7 for the convenience of taxpayers. This will make the process of filing ITR easier.
ITR filing from mobile
Under the Income Tax Act, every taxpayer is required to file ITR for the previous financial year. Those who have not filed it yet can file their return for the financial year (2020-21) till July 31, 2021. For the convenience of taxpayers, the Income Tax Department is launching a new website and mobile app from June 7. With this, the taxpayer can easily file ITR by logging in through mobile also.
The Income Tax Department has given this information through its official Twitter handle. A new mobile app will be given in the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal 2.0. It will help taxpayers to collect information like ITR form, pre-filled income tax details, simple income tax facility etc. The Income Tax Department will also make available all the important features of the portal on its mobile app.
This new app of Income Tax Department will make the return filing process better than ever before. This will make work faster. Due to which taxpayers will also be able to get a quick refund. The Income Tax Department is also working on the compliance check utility. Responding to a query from a taxpayer, the Income Tax Department said, “The app being developed for taxpayers/collectors under Section 206AB/206CCA is currently being developed, will be introduced soon.
Taxpayers can update their profile to provide details of their income including salary, property, business or profession through the mobile app. In this regard, CBDT says that the detailed information of the pre-filled form along with salary income, interest, dividend and capital gains will be available after the TDS and SFT details are uploaded.
