SHUSHA, Azerbaijan, January 12. Despite heavy
chilly, representatives of Azerbaijan’s non-governmental
organizations (NGOs) proceed peaceable protests on the
Lachin-Khankendi street, Trend studies from the scene.
Their quantity is rising, new teams of volunteers arrived within the
space to help the rally members.
The protest on the above-mentioned street in opposition to the illicit
exploitation of Azerbaijan’s mineral sources within the space of
Russian peacekeepers’ momentary deployment has been occurring for
over a month.
Since December 12, 2022, Azerbaijani environmental activists and
public members have been holding peaceable protests close to Shusha,
near the realm of Russian peacekeepers’ momentary deployment.
The protesters primarily demand the arrival of Command of Russian
peacekeepers Andrey Volkov, the creation of needed situations
for monitoring [of the illicit exploitation of Azerbaijani mineral
resources by Armenians in Karabakh] by Azerbaijani specialists, the
cessation of environmental terrorism by Armenians on Azerbaijani
lands, the institution of border and customs management posts within the
Lachin route, and the ban of weapons smuggling into the
territory of Azerbaijan.
