Jaishankar holds talks with Malaysian counterpart, expresses confidence in taking ahead strategic partnership

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held talks with Malaysian
international minister Saifuddin Abdullah on Friday and expressed
confidence on taking ahead the bilateral strategic
partnership.

Taking to Twitter, Jaishankar wrote, “Welcome FM of Malaysia
Saifuddin Abdullah to our assembly at present. Our conversations will
take ahead our Enhanced Strategic Partnership.”

Abdullah participated within the international ministerial assembly of
India and the ASEAN member states on Thursday.

Notably, the 12 months 2022 marks 65 years of multinational of
diplomatic relations between India and Malaysia.

India and Malaysia share shut relations anchored in vibrant
people-to-people linkages, shared historical past and well-established
commerce relations. Both the nations get pleasure from sturdy commerce relations
with bilateral commerce at USD 14.45 billion for the 12 months 2020-21.
Cooperation in defence and safety has develop into an necessary pillar
of India-Malaysia bilateral cooperation.

Addressing the Ministerial Session of Delhi Dialogue, Malaysian
Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah on Thursday stated India and
ASEAN will resolve to strengthen and widen strategic partnerships
together with on the ASEAN outlook on the Indo-Pacific.

“This 12 months is the India-ASEAN friendship 12 months. And that is to
commemorate the India-ASEAN partnership. This morning, we had a
very fruitful India-ASEAN Foreign Minsters’ assembly. We resolve to
strengthen and widen our strategic partnership together with on the
ASEAN outlook on the Indo-Pacific,” the Minister stated.

“There are distinctive options from India mixed with ASEAN that
will strengthen our partnership. Just calculate the variety of
individuals in India and Indonesia and pulls the entire of ASEAN. It’s
virtually 2 billion individuals. And the know-how. India has the sting as
a accomplice that may be of a variety of help,” he added.
