Italy wants doubling TAP’s capability to make sure power safety

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan.20. Italy wants doubling
the capability of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) to make sure its
power safety and independence, reads the article revealed by
the native Formiche journal, Trend studies.

“Doubling of flows would permit Italy to face the fuel disaster with
a really completely different conception of the issue. TAP transported 8.1
billion cubic meters of fuel to Europe in 2021. As of 2022,
Azerbaijan exported 9.3 bcm of fuel to Europe within the first ten
months and was anticipated to provide 11.5 bcm by the top of 2022. The
nation expects to extend fuel provides to Europe to 11 billion
cubic meters this 12 months,” reads the article.

Formiche says that because the begin of business operation on
December 31, 2020, TAP has transported 18.5 billion cubic meters of
fuel, of which nearly 16 billion went to Italy alone.

As the European part of the Southern Gas Corridor, TAP has
the capability to move roughly 10 billion cubic meters of
fuel every year (bcm/a) to a number of markets in Europe. The pipeline is
additionally designed with the potential to broaden its throughput capability
as much as 20 bcm/a.

TAP is strategically and economically essential to Europe and
important in offering dependable entry to a brand new supply of pure
fuel. TAP performs a major position in boosting Europe’s power
safety, provide diversification, in addition to decarbonisation
aims.

TAP’s shareholding is comprised of bp (20 %), SOCAR (20
%), Snam (20 %), Fluxys (19 %), Enagás (16
%) and Axpo (5 %).
