Irda had given strict instructions to the Delhi High Court to stop the delay in cashless clama settlement of treatment of COVID patients. After this, the insurance regulator has asked the insurance companies to dispose of it within 60 minutes.
Covid 19 Treatment
Cashless treatment facility is being provided to the Corona victims. But there were problems in settling the claim in many places. In such a situation, taking cognizance of the case, the Delhi High Court had directed the IRDAI to settle the cashless claim for the treatment of COVID patients soon. Under this, now the IRDA has instructed the insurance companies to settle the claim in just 60 minutes.
Let us know that like other diseases, the insurance regulatory and development authority IRDAI (IRDAI) had recently taken an important decision to get the benefit of cashless treatment facility in Corona. Under this, hospitals under the network of insurance companies were also asked to treat corona in a cashless manner. But there were many complaints about the settlement of the claim, in such a situation the Delhi High Court had to intervene in it.
Take decision on receipt of receipt of final bill
Following the High Court’s directive, now the insurance regulator IRDAI has directed all insurance companies to take a decision on cashless claim for treatment of COVID-19 within 60 minutes of receipt of the final bill. Other corona patients will also benefit from this procedure. Especially for the patients on the waiting list. Because the bed of the first patient will be empty before the claim is settled quickly, which other patients will be able to take advantage of.
Action will be taken on the company which takes more time
Regarding settlement of cashless claim for treatment of COVID patients, the Delhi High Court on 28 April had said that the insurance companies should not take 6-7 hours to approve the claim. They get it settled immediately after receiving the hospital bill. Try that the claim will settle within 30 to 60 minutes. An insurance company not doing so can be taken under contempt. Because it is delayed in discharging patients for more time.
