More than half of the CEOs involved in the survey have said that if there is a ban on the arrival of workers during ‘partial lockdown’, their production may be affected.

Corona became uncontrollable in Maharashtra

Amid fears of a new wave of Coronavirus infection being partially ‘lockdwon’ in the country, the industry believes that if this happens, the movement of workers and goods will be affected and industrial production will have a major impact. . Based on the survey conducted by the CII (CII) among the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the companies, the suggestion has been made that ‘Covid curfew’ and ‘micro-level control strategies in the affected areas’ Along with this, the strategy of adopting appropriate behavior to avoid infection (wearing masks and keeping distance etc.) will be effective in overcoming the infection.

Most CEOs in the CII survey indicated that partial lockdown could affect the movement of workers as well as goods. This can have a significant adverse effect on industrial production.

Up to 50 percent loss of production may occur

More than half of the CEOs involved in the survey have said that if there is a ban on the arrival of workers during ‘partial lockdown’, their production may be affected. It said, similarly, 56 percent of CEOs said that if the movement of goods is affected, they may suffer a loss of production of up to 50 percent.

CII-nominated chairman TV Narendran said that strictly following health and safety standards is necessary for the prevention of corona. At the same time, the functioning of industries should not be brought under the ambit of measures like ban on social gathering in one place.

According to the industry body, to reduce the impact of restrictions, about 67 percent of the CEOs surveyed expressed their willingness to work with the government to immunize eligible people.
