In such a situation, a rule of the Income Tax Department is becoming an obstacle in the payment of treatment. This barrier has been removed. But this rebate is only till May 31.
At this time, the rule of the Income Tax Department is that any person can make a cash payment of up to a maximum of two lakh rupees for the purchase of any goods or services. But it is taking more money to get treatment for corona. For the treatment of hospitalized patients, they are either taking cash or through digital medium. They are not taking the check. In such a situation, the families of those patients are facing problems who keep cash or work with checks. Still a lot of people do not make digital payments due to ignorance or fear of digital fraud.
Discounts till 31 May
The government has allowed hospitals, dispensaries and covid care centers treating the corona epidemic to accept cash payments of more than two lakh rupees from patients or their dependents. However, this exemption will be applicable till 31 May. For this, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued a notification in this regard. For this, the hospital will have to keep a copy of the PAN and Aadhar card copy of the patient and the payer and link both.

The CBDT said, ‘The Central Government .. makes it clear that the treatment of hospitals, dispensaries, nursing homes, covid care centers or other medical facilities of a covid patient in relation to Section 269 ST of the Income Tax Act, 1961 from April 1, 2021 to May 31, 2021 Till the cash payment, the information about the relationship between the patient and the person paying on his behalf, PAN or Aadhaar and the patient pays, will have to be kept.
