There is a continuous increase in new cases of Covid-19 India in the country. For the first time in India, more than one lakh cases of COVID have been reported in a single day.

According to the Times of India report, 1,03,844 new cases have been reported in the country. There are 57,074 new cases only from Maharashtra. Earlier in the country, the highest number of cases were reported in one day on September 17 last year (98,795).

According to the Health Ministry, the highest number of cases are coming from Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. On Sunday, 80.96 per cent of the total new cases in the country were from these 8 states. At the same time, the number of active cases in the country has crossed 7 lakh, which is more than 5.50 of the total positive cases.

Reports of 513 more deaths due to COVID infection were recorded in the country on Sunday. At the same time, 7.59 crore vaccine doses have been made. In this, the number of people applying both doses has increased to 1.02 crore.

Maharashtra sees rush despite weekend lockdown, night curfew and increase in cases

According to the news agency ANI, despite the increasing cases of coronavirus in Mumbai, Dadar vegetable market saw a huge crowd on Monday morning. In Mumbai yesterday, 11,163 new cases have been reported and 25 people have died due to infection.
