The number of subscribers of Atal Pension Yojana crossed the 3 crore mark by the end of the last financial year 2020-21. The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) said that more than 79 lakh new subscribers were added to the scheme in 2020-21. In this way, the total number of subscribers of the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) has increased to 3.02 crores. Let us know that the Atal Pension Yojana was launched in May 2015.
Of the 3.02 crore shareholders of APY, about 70 percent of the accounts have been opened by public sector banks. At the same time, 19 percent accounts have been opened by regional rural banks.
5 million new subscribers added in 6 months
The PFRDA said that there has been a significant increase in the number of subscribers joining the scheme, especially in the second half of 2020-21. The number of APY subscribers has increased from 2.5 to 3 crores in less than six months.
In the last financial year, 79.14 lakh new subscribers were added to this scheme. Of these, 28 percent i.e. 22.07 lakh subscribers were added by the State Bank of India (SBI). Canara Bank added 5.89 lakh and Indian Bank added 5.17 lakh new subscribers.
Apart from these, Bank of Baroda, Airtel Payment Bank, Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India (Union Bank of India), Indian Overseas Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank (HDFC Bank), Aryavart Bank and Baroda UP Bank etc. Add 1 to 5 lakh new APY accounts.
In which state how many APY accounts are opened
By March 31, 2021, more than 20 lakh APY subscribers joined five states. Uttar Pradesh topped the list with 45.4 lakh APY enrollment, followed by 28.22 lakh in Bihar, 23.92 lakh in West Bengal, 23.17 lakh in Maharashtra and 22.57 lakh APY enrollments in Tamil Nadu.
The other six states Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Odisha have done between 10 and 20 lakh APY enrollments as on 31 March 2021.
1000 rupees pension priority
In the last six years, the priority of pension of Rs 1,000 per month has increased. As of 31 March 2021, out of the total enrollment under APY, about 77 per cent of the subscribers have opted for a monthly pension amount of Rs 1,000. Explain that on 31 March 2016, 38 percent of the subscribers had opted for a monthly pension amount of Rs 1,000.
Guaranteed for such pension every month
Under the Atal Pension Yojana, the government guarantees a pension of Rs 1,000 to 5,000 a month. In this, the plan is divided on the basis of pension received after the age of 60 years. There are plans to get pension of 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000 and 5,000 rupees every month. If you want to take 1,000 rupees as a pension, then according to that, you have to pay installment and if you want 5,000 rupees, then according to that amount will increase.
