RBI has extended the deadline for mandatory implementation of Additional Measures (AFA) till 30 September 2021. The Reserve Bank of India’s rules regarding auto pensions were to come into force from 1 April 2021. But now they will come into force on 30 September 2021. However, Banks and Payments Gateway had demanded additional time from the Central Bank regarding this.
On 4 December 2020, the Reserve Bank directed all banks, RRBs, NBFCs and payment gateways that auto payment facility cannot be continued after 31 March 2021 through a prepaid payment instrument, UPI, by credit or debit card. . The Reserve Bank has done this keeping in mind the security in card transactions.
