AGHDAM, Azerbaijan, March 16. We
consider that we can change the present environmental
state of affairs by way of shut cooperation with the UN companies,
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar
Babayev mentioned throughout strategic consultations on cooperation between
Azerbaijan and the UN, held in Aghdam, Trend reviews.
“We have repeatedly appealed in reference to
environmental hazards and the crucial situation of the
transboundary Okhchuchay river, and different rivers within the area,” he
mentioned.
According to him, there was no particular or substantial
response addressing the best way to resolve these points and cease
air pollution.
“It was a missed alternative to unravel transboundary
water issues. But we nonetheless consider that by working intently with
UN companies, we will change the present state of affairs,” Babaev
added.
Azerbaijan’s Agdam hosts strategic consultations on
cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN.
The occasion is attended by the heads of Azerbaijan’s
Ministries of Ecology and Natural Resources, Agriculture, and
Health, the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, the
State Committee for Family, Women, and Children, the Azerbaijan
National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), Special Representatives of
the President of Azerbaijan, staff of the Presidential
Administration represented within the Interdepartmental Center
working underneath the Coordination Headquarters, in addition to senior
officers of the workplaces of UN companies working in
Azerbaijan.
