The Union Health Secretary held a high-level meeting on Saturday with 12 states and union territories where the highest number of cases of corona are being registered. To prevent the spread of infection, these states and union territories have been advised to tighten measures and rules.

These states and union territories include Maharashtra, Gujarat, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Punjab and Bihar. According to sources, the Union Health Secretary (Health Secretary) The high-level meeting, chaired by Rajesh Bhushan, calls for a strategy on five steps to prevent corona’s havoc, including increased corona testing, contact tracing, isolation, target number of vaccinations, and clinical Treatment involves attention.

Rapidly increasing positive cases in 46 districts

46 districts have been identified in these states and union territories, in which 71 percent of corona cases have been reported this month and 69 percent deaths have been reported. Districts of Maharashtra are also among these. Bhushan said that in such a situation more attention needs to be paid to these districts. The meeting has been asked to wear masks and emphasize on social distancing. He said that as part of renewed efforts to prevent infection, states and UTs will have to increase testing.

People over the age of 45 are the most affected

With this, Bhushan said that those states and union territories where the ratio of RT-PCR testing is low, it needs to be increased rapidly to reach the fixed level of 70 percent or more. He said that once a positive case is identified, a list of those who come in its contact should be made and soon they should be separated from the others. Within 72 hours, at least 80 percent of the contacts have to be identified and separated. Told in the meeting That of all the deaths due to corona in the country so far, almost 90 percent of them are over 45 years of age.

States have also been asked to ensure that the corona guidelines are strictly adhered to by all people, especially in congested areas such as markets, bus stands, schools, colleges, railway stations, and strictly enforce the corona protocols. . Along with this, instructions should be given to keep Holi and other festivals and ceremonies confined within the houses.

Corona cases are being recorded daily in the country

It is known that Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat are the states where the cases of corona are increasing everyday. The maximum number of people attending the wedding ceremony in Delhi has been reduced to 100 (in a closed space) amid growing cases of corona. At the same time, a person found without mask in Maharashtra is being fined Rs 500. In Maharashtra, 35 thousand 726 new positive cases of corona have been reported and 166 deaths have occurred. At the same time, 62,258 new cases of corona have been registered in the country on Saturday, which is the largest figure of this year.
