The ministry said that a total of 13,54,976 vaccines were administered till 7 pm on the 68th day of nationwide vaccination, of which 12,14,055 beneficiaries were given the first dose.

More than 5.21 crore doses (Dose) of Covid-19 Vaccine have been applied to the beneficiaries across the country. The Union Health Ministry said that on the basis of the interim report till 7 pm on Wednesday evening, a total of 5,21,97,380 doses have been applied. Of those who have been vaccinated, 79,56,925 health workers have been given the first dose and 50,47,927 health workers have been given the second dose. Apart from this, 84,33,875 personnel (FLW) of the Front Front have been given the first dose and 32,02,183 FLWs have been given the second dose. In addition, 2,26,01,622 beneficiaries over 60 years of age and 49,54,848 beneficiaries above 45 years of age with other diseases have been given the first dose.

The ministry said that a total of 13,54,976 vaccines were administered till 7 pm on the 68th day of nationwide vaccination, of which 12,14,055 beneficiaries were given the first and 1,40,921 health workers and the second dose to the FLW. The 12,14,055 beneficiaries include 8,47,798 over 60 years of age and 2,55,672 people over 45 years of age with other diseases.

88% of those who lost their lives from Corona are below 45 years

The Health Ministry said that about 88 percent of the people who lost their lives to COVID-19 in the country are in the age group of 45 years or more. The ministry said this a day after announcing vaccination for all people of the respective age group from April 1. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that the death rate related to cases in this age group is 2.85 percent. He said, “About 88 percent of the deaths due to COVID-19 in the country are in the age group of 45 years or more, so these people are in the highest risk range who need to be saved.” ‘

Bhushan said that this is the reason why vaccination of people of this age group has been approved from April 1. Regarding the new forms of Corona virus, Director of National Center for Disease Control SK Singh said that out of 10,787 infected samples from 18 states and union territories, 771 cases have been reported as VOCs of Worry (VOC) and of these 736 samples have been detected by virus.
