BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 18. The
contamination of our territories with mines by Armenia creates
critical obstacles to finishing up exhumation work, stated President
Ilham Aliyev in his letter to the individuals of the worldwide
convention on “Increasing nationwide and international efforts to make clear
the destiny of lacking individuals” in Baku, Trend experiences.
“The liberation of Azerbaijani lands from occupation in 2020
ushered new alternatives for clarifying the destiny of the individuals
who went lacking within the First Karabakh warfare. However, the
contamination of our territories with mines and unexploded navy
ordnance by Armenia creates critical obstacles to the method of
figuring out mass graves and finishing up exhumation work.
Immediately after the Patriotic War, necessary steps had been taken
to strengthen the capability of the State Commission, decide the
locations of mass graves within the territories free of occupation, and
vital excavation and exhumation work was began. In the final
two years, 10 mass graves had been found because of
excavations within the liberated territories. As a results of the pressing
measures taken, it has been potential to establish 15 lacking
individuals, and the general public was knowledgeable about it.
In the post-conflict interval, the problem of lacking individuals has
been highlighted by us in all related conferences and negotiations
with Armenia, particularly within the Brussels and Washington platforms.
Unfortunately, Armenia flagrantly violates its obligations beneath
worldwide humanitarian legislation and doesn’t present Azerbaijan with
details about the lacking individuals and the precise location of
mass graves. The causes for this are apparent. Armenia believes
that this can expose its additional warfare crimes and atrocities. The
worldwide neighborhood ought to put stress on Armenia to submit
data on the destiny of lacking individuals and the placement of mass
graves to the Azerbaijani aspect. This is a purely humanitarian subject
and its politicization is unacceptable,” President Ilham Aliyev
underlined.
