The Congress has accused the BJP of violating the Model Code of Conduct, Provision 126A of the Representation of the People Act 1951 and the directives issued by the Election Commission on 26 March.

Congress.

Attacking the BJP strongly, Assam Congress chief Ripun Bora on Monday questioned why the saffron party was confident of winning all 47 seats in Upper Assam, then why did it spend crores of rupees to advertise in newspapers. In the first phase of Assam assembly elections, polling was held on 47 seats on 27 March.

The Congress filed an FIR against Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda, State BJP President Ranjit Kumar Das and eight big newspapers for publishing an advertisement speculating the BJP’s victory on all seats in Upper Assam. Is routed. The Congress has accused the BJP of violating the Model Code of Conduct, Provision 126A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and the directives issued by the Election Commission on 26 March. Bora alleged that BJP leaders are not unanimous about this estimate and they want to hide their failure through such advertisements.

He told reporters that the BJP first said that it would win 46 seats, then the advertisement claimed that the Bhagwa party would win all 47 seats. Later the state BJP president said that his party would get 42 seats and in the end, Home Minister Amit Shah said that the BJP would win 37 seats. Bora said that there is no consensus among the BJP leaders about how many seats to win, because they want to confuse the public and hide their failure. If they have the same confidence of winning all the seats in the first phase of elections, then why are they spending crores of rupees on advertisements in newspapers.

On the advertisements published on Sunday, the state Congress has approached Assam Chief Electoral Officer Nitin Khade, while the All India Congress Committee has made a complaint to the Election Commission of India demanding immediate action against the BJP and newspapers. He said that the question also arises as to what kind of situation has arisen that BJP had to spend crores of rupees to print the advertisement of its victory estimate. If he is confident of winning, then why spend money to emphasize him.
