In the notice, Assam (Assam) Chief Electoral Officer Nitin Khad asked the Newspapers to send the reports by 7 pm on Monday, in which their position has been cleared.

The Election Commission has issued a notice to eight newspapers in Assam (Assam) to print the advertisement of the BJP in the format of the news. In the notices, Chief Electoral Officer of Assam Nitin Khad asked newspapers to send reports by 7 pm on Monday in which their position was explained. Officials said that the newspapers have submitted their reports which have been sent to the Election Commission of India. Earlier, the Assam unit of the Congress gave a complaint against Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, BJP national president JP Nadda, state BJP chief Ranjit Kumar Das and eight leading newspapers who allegedly published advertisements in the “news format”. “And in which it was claimed that the party would win all the seats which were voted on March 27.

Complaint was lodged in Dispur police station

The complaint was lodged at Dispur police station on Sunday night. Niran Bora, president of the legal unit of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), said “this is an open violation of the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct by the BJP leaders, the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and the guidelines of the Election Commission and media conduct issued by the Commission” .

‘Use of illegal methods to influence voters’

He said that BJP leaders are realizing that they are losing elections, so they are adopting illegal and unconstitutional methods to influence the voters. Bora said, “The advertisements were placed on the front page of newspapers to influence the minds of the voters” and this willful, malicious advertisement is a clear violation of Section 126A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 which is for two years imprisonment and fine. Is punishable with. ”

The state Congress on Sunday complained against the publication of advertisements to the Chief Electoral Officer of Assam and the All India Congress Committee to the Election Commission. It urged immediate action against the BJP and newspapers.
