In the last year, on January 1, 2020 and July 1, 2020, the installment of dearness allowance to central employees was stopped. Due to this ban, the employees and pensioners are suffering double losses, in one way they are facing dearness and on the other hand dearness allowance has not been received for 18 months. In such a situation, a government employee with a grade of 10 thousand is incurring a loss of about Rs 2.88 lakh.

A government employee whose grade salary falls in the bracket of Rs 10,000. That is, it comes in the range of basic pay of Rs 144200 to 218200. In this condition, if the amount of DA of that employee from January 1, 2020 to June 2020, becomes Rs 34608 to Rs 52368. After this, the installment for the next 6 months, which is made from 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2020, ranges from Rs 60564 to Rs 91644. Since the DA is still due, then the arrears of the next 7 months which are from 1 January 2021 to 30 June 2021 is Rs 95172 to Rs 144012. If these three installments of these six months are added, then this amount will range from Rs 1,90,344 to Rs 2,88,024. That is, a government employee who is coming in this bracket has suffered a total loss of Rs 2.88 lakh for 18 months.
DA arrears of 28%
Government employees were getting 17 percent, which has been increased three times till now, although the increased amount has not been received yet. For the first time, DA was increased by 4 percent in January 2020. After this, in June, 2020, the dearness allowance was increased by 3 percent. In January 2021 also, the dearness allowance was increased by 4 percent. With this total increase, now central employees should get dearness allowance on the basis of 28 percent rate.
