It is to be noted that in February this year, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari introduced the country’s first CNG tractor, stressing the change in the Central Motor Vehicle Rules. He claimed that this tractor would not only save the environment from being polluted. Rather, it will also reduce the expenses of the farmers. CNG tractors are also better in terms of tone. A tight seal is placed on the CNG tank, this reduces the explosion risk while refueling or in the event of a fuel spill.
There can be savings of up to one and a half lakhs every year
According to the government’s claim, CNG can save up to one and a half lakhs in a year with the use of tractors. Because at present, the cost of about 3 to 3.5 lakh rupees is spent on diesel tractors. Apart from this, CNG tractors also reduce carbon emissions compared to diesel. According to experts, the use of CNG agricultural vehicles can reduce carbon emissions by up to fifty percent.
